Every Dossier release

A run now reports where you started it. Pressing Run keeps you on the same screen: the button becomes Analyzing with Cancel beside it and the progress below, instead of swapping the pane for a separate screen. Re-runs report in the header, as before.

The read-only library behaves like the rest of the app. When Dossier can't read your messages, it opens on your dossiers and recent chats rather than a bare "Select a dossier", draws group dossiers as groups, and tells you plainly whether access was never granted or has been lost — with the right thing to do in each case.

A clearer account screen. Backup and Sync Dossiers leads the card, above your email and remaining balance, and the email verification step says what was sent rather than what to do about it.

The paywall states the exchange rate once. One credit is one Dossier — at the top, and not repeated underneath.

Redesigned to look the part

• A new case-file look throughout. Quick Coach, the Full Report, and the detail header have all been rebuilt to the dossier aesthetic, with squared-off buttons, a consistent type ramp in Settings, and cleaner share images.
• One contact, drawn the same everywhere. A person now looks the same on every screen they appear on, with their name and photo settled before anything is labeled.
• Freshness in a single statement. The detail header now says clearly how current a Dossier is.

Clearer sign-in and permissions

• See the cost before you commit. The paywall now lays out its questions plainly, and the age and relationship questions are asked up front. You answer the relationship question before your first run, not after spending a credit.
• Know what a re-run costs. Re-running a Dossier now shows its cost before you confirm, in a branded sheet rather than a plain alert.
• Full Disk Access, handled honestly. The permission screen clears faster and no longer asks for an unnecessary relaunch. If Full Disk Access is revoked mid-session, the app tells you instead of quietly failing.
• Straight talk about your data. Settings no longer claims "Connected" when reads are failing. When your texts can't be read, the app says so wherever it would otherwise imply otherwise.

Your Dossiers, kept

• Returning users can read what they paid for. Purchased Dossiers stay readable, and a synced Dossier keeps a usable name even without local message data (a phone number, when that's all there is).
• No merged people, threads, or accounts. Two people, two conversations, or two accounts are never combined, and empty-library and first-run states each get their own clear recovery action.
• What's New, built in. A finished What's New view surfaces changes in the app.

Privacy and correctness

• Private data stays masked and correctly attributed. Several paths where information could appear unmasked or tied to the wrong person are closed, and no data from a previous account is served during a sign-in swap.
• Sign-in tokens are harder to intercept. The sign-in token no longer rides a URL scheme another app could claim, and checkout links are required to be https before they open.
• Honest analytics disclosure. The app now states plainly that it derives an approximate city, not a precise location.

Wording

• "Run," not "generate." Small changes throughout so the app says what it actually does, including what the website counts before it starts counting and what a sealed label protects (the handle, not your identity).

• A new sign-in system. Codes now arrive from auth@justdossier.com and confirm with one click. Linking your email to Dossier is faster, and always verified from your inbox.
• Better crash and error reporting, so problems get found and fixed quickly.
• Under-the-hood improvements to syncing, billing, and reliability.
