Analyze your texts with your parents

Run a dossier on your thread with your mom or dad and see the relationship those texts actually record.

Nobody texts like a parent: the unpunctuated check-in, the photo with no caption, the paragraph about nothing that is really about everything. A dossier covers the latest stretch of it (the 250 most recent messages) and shows the shape underneath — what they always ask about, how you answer, and the rhythm you two have settled into. It works on the family group chat too, but the one-on-one thread with a parent is where it reads like a letter you didn't know you'd written.

Questions this dossier answers
  1. 01What do my parents actually check in about, and how do I answer?
  2. 02What's the rhythm of our thread — who reaches out, and about what?
  3. 03What's their texting style — and what's mine back at them?
  4. 04What's in this thread that I'd want to keep?
Good to know

Your Style cuts both ways here: how you show up in the thread, not only how they do. People run their mom's thread expecting to laugh at her typos and come away noticing their own two-word replies.

Common questions

Can I run a dossier on a very old thread with my parents?

However old the thread is, a dossier covers its 250 most recent messages — the current stretch of the relationship, which with a parent is usually months of check-ins. Running it again later covers the newest messages.

Is it private to run a family conversation through Dossier?

Your message database never leaves your Mac. Writing a dossier sends one scrubbed conversation — phone numbers and email addresses stripped — for analysis, and no copy is kept. Your messages never train AI models.

A dossier is for fun and reflection, not advice. It surfaces patterns in how people text each other — it does not diagnose anyone, and nothing it writes is a finding of fact about another person. What leaves your Mac and what never does is set out in how Dossier protects your data.
